Whatsapp is an instant messaging application that is quite popular and now users can open it directly from a PC or laptop without having to install additional applications. WhatsApp was founded on February 24, 2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum, former employees of the Yahoo search engine. With $500,000 in capital, Koum discussed with Alex Fishman about his beliefs with the new App Store. Fishman then brought Koum together with an iPhone application developer from Russia named Igor Solomennikov.
Some time ago WhatsApp officially introduced a new feature that allows us to use it on a PC, of course this is good news, especially for those who often use it not only to chat with friends, but for other purposes such as business or selling online, for example.
The basic function of Messenger is almost the same as the Short Message Service (SMS) which is rarely used. However, WhatsApp does not use credit, but internet data. So WhatsApp is relatively more efficient.
Long awaited, the desktop version of WhatsApp has finally been officially released. The announcement of the presence of the computer version of the chat application was delivered directly by CEO Jan Koum in a post on his official Facebook account.
At first, it was only possible to run it on a PC from the Google Chrome web browser, but later the developer provided the latest update so that this feature can now also be opened from Mozilla Firefox and Opera. This feature can be enjoyed by Android, Blackberry, Nokia S60, Windows Phone, Blackberry 10 and Nokia 40 users.
As stated by Koum, users can directly access the service via a web browser or browser.
That means, users only need to have a browser on a PC device. For the initial period of its launch, Koum asked users to run the application through Google's browser, namely Chrome.
By being able to be accessed via a computer, of course it will make us more comfortable when typing or reading messages, besides opening WhatsApp on a PC it will certainly be more convenient than via a smartphone because the screen size is larger so we can easily see all contacts, reply or write messages.
Use Whatsapp from your Desktop
One of the biggest issues with WhatsApp web is that to use it on your PC you’ll need to run a compatible browser. Luckily, this independent desktop client version is easy to run within its window and has all the features of the Web version. Just like the web browser version, you have to sync this program with your cellphone by scanning a QR code which you’ll be able to do from within Whatsapp on your smartphone.
Just tap the icon labeled WhatsApp Web within this app’s menu bar. After that, all of your conversations, sessions, and contacts will sync and you’ll even get to interact with them from your PC without any hassles.
When managing groups, sending, and receiving messages you can use the camera that’s integrated with your desktop (if there’s one available) to send videos and photos that you take. The only limitation is the one we just mentioned; you’ll need to have it installed and running on your Android or iOS in order to use it on your desktop.
