VMware Workstation Player is a virtualization software that allows multiple virtual machines (VMs) to run on the same physical server. Each VM can run its own operating system (OS).

EMC Corporation initially acquired VMware in 2004. EMC was later acquired by Dell Technologies in 2016. VMware based its virtualization technology on the ESX/ESXi metal hypervisor in the x86 architecture.
With VMware you can run other operating systems fully without fear of interfering with other operating systems that are running. For example, you use the Windows operating system and want to use Linux for some reason, you don't need to install Linux on a laptop, you can directly install and run a virtual machine in VMWare.

This app lets you create and run any virtual machine, but this version has limitations. One of the limitations is in the number of virtual machines we can run simultaneously. Another limitation is in the platforms that can be used. VMWare Workstation Player works on desktop computers.
But VMWare has a version to install on the server in order to access virtual machines more efficiently, but this feature is not included in VMWare Workstation Player.
