If we look at the needs of student laptops, it's quite tricky, on the one hand, usually you need a powerful laptop, especially for those who need to do heavy tasks such as design, animation, or if I was in engineering, I usually needed to do AutoCAD for example — but on the other hand it is also necessary. a laptop whose budget is not too over the top, then the design is at least also stylish.

Han, today I will review a little of the latest ASUS laptop that is suitable for use by students, and this is the ASUS VivoBook Ultra 14 which has just been released with prices ranging from 8.5 to 12.7 million rupiah, depending on the variant chosen.

Design of ASUS VivoBook Ultra 14 (K413)

Laptops for Students! ASUS VivoBook Ultra 14 (K413) Review

The design of this laptop is stylish for young people with a fairly fresh color choice. Mine is the Hearty Gold color, it looks like light gold or copper, with the ASUS VivoBook logo on the front.

And on the keyboard there is a touch of green on the enter key — so it looks like it's made to stand out, and the rest is wrapped in a metallic silver color.

As for the material, it's a combination of metal and plastic, so it's not full metal in the body, with a weight of 1.4kg and a thickness of 17.9mm — so it's still very portable to put in a bag and carry everywhere.

Compared to the previous series, this one is also still thinner and lighter. The build quality is solid with a matte finish all over the body. So if you make a style, it's still cool.

Screen of ASUS VivoBook Ultra 14 (K413)

If we switch to the display, there is a 14-inch screen with fairly thin bezels on this laptop, the top bezel is about 11 mm, and the side bezel is only 5.75mm, which makes the screen to body ratio reach 84%.

The screen has an FHD resolution with a pretty sharp display, for watching videos the colors are vivid, making movies is also okay. It's just that the viewing angle is not so wide to be seen from above and below, but left to right it's wide enough and it's really okay for the daily needs of students or college students.

The screen itself has a matte tone, so it will be suitable for those of you who often use outdoor laptops or in hot conditions due to minimal glare.

Audio of ASUS VivoBook Ultra 14 (K413)

As for the audio, it's really good, guys, I've used Harman Kardon Audio, the sound is loud, and has good clarity. You can listen to music or watch movies with satisfaction on this laptop.

Performance of ASUS VivoBook Ultra 14 (K413)

Now let's talk about performance. There are 3 variants of this ASUS VivoBook Ultra 14 (K413), the first is the base model, equipped with Intel Core i3 dual core 10th generation, then there is the middle variant with Intel Core i5 quad core generation 10, and the highest version is the Intel Core i7. 10th generation quad core.

The middle and upper variants are equipped with the NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU which is absent in the base model variant — and all three are equipped with 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD.

For benchmark results, in the top variant I have, I got a score of 4131 on PCMARK10, with a good essential and productivity score — and that's enough for various digital content creations such as photo editing, rendering, or video.

3DMark got a score of 470, and VRMark got a score of 2203 with an average frame rate of 48 FPS.

For real usage itself, of course, it is very responsive for light daily student activities such as browsing, document processing, even for doing heavy tasks such as editing photos and videos, you can do it from this laptop, guys.

So for students who sometimes need to do light tasks, and sometimes also need heavy activities, the latest ASUS VivoBook Ultra 14 should be able to fulfill that need.

Interesting Features of ASUS VivoBook Ultra 14

And there is one interesting thing guys on ASUS laptops that I think you should know, namely the Link My ASUS feature. Now this is a feature that can connect your cellphone to a laptop, any cellphone can do it, you don't have to have an ASUS cellphone ... even my iPhone can connect here.

With this feature, notifications on the cellphone can go directly to the laptop, the phone can also be forwarded here, and the exchange of files from the cellphone to the laptop can also be instant without cables. This is a pretty interesting extra feature on ASUS laptops.

Keyboard of ASUS VivoBook Ultra 14

The keyboard is comfortable to type on, the key travel is quite deep with the keys large enough, it's also equipped with a backlight when typing in a dark room. The trackpad is also convenient, and although it's not equipped with a NumberPad like the ASUS ZenBook or some other ASUS series, there's a fingerprint sensor here, guys, to make it easier for you to log in with your fingerprint on Windows Hello.

From what I've tried, the scanning process is fast and accurate, and making Windows logins is also easier than having to enter a PIN or password. And btw, the keyboard is already spill resistant, so you can feel safe, if you accidentally spill water.

Battery of ASUS VivoBook Ultra 14

For the battery, this laptop is equipped with a 42 Wh 3 cell battery, which of course depends on usage. For my own daily activities such as browsing, document processing, and occasionally streaming video, this laptop can last 7-8 hours. Of course it can be more or less depending on what you use it for and how it is used.

Now an interesting feature on this laptop is the battery health charging setting. So here you can set the battery mode here. If you usually use a laptop on a mobile basis, it can be in full capacity mode — so the battery is charged until it's full. Meanwhile, if it is balanced, it is charged up to 80% so that the battery will also last longer.

And if you often hold on to the charger because you often use a laptop at home for heavy tasks, then you can choose the maximum lifespan mode, using this battery will be charged to a maximum of 60%, so it's quite safe even though the charger continues to fast when you use this laptop.

Port of ASUS VivoBook Ultra 14

And speaking of the port, it's complete, on the left there is a DC input for charging, 1 HDMI port, 1 USB Type-A port, 1 USB Type-C port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. To the right there are two USB 2.0 ports, and 1 microSD port. For connectivity, this laptop also supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0

Conclusion

So if I can conclude, this ASUS VivoBook Ultra 14 (K413) is a laptop that is suitable for use by students, especially students, who sometimes need to do light tasks and sometimes also need performance for heavy tasks.

The design is stylish for young people, and it is also portable to carry everywhere. Then there are some extra features like being able to connect to a smartphone and change the battery charging mode, which is quite handy too to have.
